I want you to think about why Jesus, the all-powerful and visible God, told the Apostles not to leave Jerusalem to take care of business until they had received the promise of power from on high. The easy answer is that Jesus would not be present in bodily form much longer to help them when they needed the power of God to bring their commissions to pass. They were going to run into opposition along the way where just receiving, and knowing the word only was not going to cut it. I will take a thought from a well-known commercial to explain this, Jesus did not want them going around into battle with only a third of the power of God to fight with: Smart!

Let me ask you, are you being smart? When you are out and about taking care of the Father’s business, are you doing it with the full arsenal of God’s power, or are you keeping yourself in a handicap position? I still hear people saying that all they need is to know the word of God because the battle is already won. If that was true at all, Jesus would have not told the apostles to hold up. Instead, he would have told them to just show up. The apostles not only knew the word, they really knew the “Word”: they hung out with Him in person for over three years. You and I have not known the Lord in this manner. The reason Jesus could come to earth, and make quick work of his time on earth is because it had pleased the Father to give to his son the fullness of the Godhead: Jesus was all God! Jesus did not operate in his power as a God, but he did operate in his power as a man while still being all God. Jesus did not go around on his limo-sandals showing up anywhere with only part of God. Once Jesus started his miracles, he always showed up with all power available to him: SMART!!

Listen, if we are not using the full power of God, we will be leaving a lot of assets on the table. The word only may get you thirty-plus fold, but that means up to sixty fold could be left on the table. Everything starts with the word: there is nothing made that is not made without it. Even in the natural, before there is any development made, there is the word given to make it. The one thing that you see with every word given, whether it be from a spiritual God or a natural man, after the said word you have movement. Every time God said let there be, and the spirit of God moved. Every time men with power say let there be, and their distribution centers move using their money or other people’s money, but you get movement. When you speak the word that you want to see come to pass, are you releasing movement, or standing there hoping for movement? The Jesus that was here on earth did not speak and hope. The Jesus that was here on earth spoke and knew, then he moved things.

We have to be like Jesus knowing that we are able, and then move things to bring the word to pass. The word is not built to bring things to pass with only a part of God’s power: it’s not smart or resourceful. One other key thing to note is that we are members of the body of Christ, even if some members don’t grow individually, the Body as a unit has grown from when Paul once had to feed the milk of the word. God is not looking for applesauce eaters, the kingdom work is being done by meat eaters at this stage. Father will keep a place for applesauce eaters, but the mature sons of God are those that can take that word and movement follows. Once movement follows, you are able to get that sixty fold plus. This allows us to leave a lot less on the table. Father is now ready to take those meat eaters of the word with movement that follows, and finish up their business. I will talk more about finishing the business, and receiving that hundred fold in the next post. Until then, go ahead and change into your meat-eating pants with movements, and get ready for Father to finish up your unfinished business. It’s father-time!!!
