In the beginning when God created man, he tried to keep all the bad influencing ingredients away from man by commanding man to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And if you get right down to the bottom line, it wasn’t really knowledge that concerned God, for he himself called some knowledge good. However, the influencing ingredients coming upon his neophyte creation, man, is the training that can not be talked about, but only experienced about that concerned God; so God made the initial decision to just keep knowledge away from the man altogether. One might say that God introduced knowledge to man himself first in the garden before the serpent came along to do his thing, right? The truth of the matter is that God introduced life to the man to obey, but did not introduce to the man the knowledge of why, and how it would work. God over estimated the young existence of man: God may have wanted an Angel with heaven like obedience as a choice from man’s freewill, but he received an Angel with tours on the earth with proven like disobedience having no choice given with no will. The one common denominator between the fallen angel, and the now fallen man was this, seeking knowledge in some form or another made them both act in disobedience and betrayal toward God. So from the betrayal of the fallen angels to the disobedience of the fallen man, God had learned that knowledge received directly(God and tree), indirectly (serpent and man), or from elevated positions (glorified Angel and glorified Man), would just be a means of exposure to those bad influencing ingredients. And we know from our studies that it was the bad ingredient of pride, which was not in heaven, that got the bad ball rolling for Lucifer. The pride of Lucifer more than likely came from the percentage of knowledge gained from his assignments on earth in his elevated position above a regular angel before the fall. So let’s look at how serving life in obedience on the earth, can be affected with a percentage of knowledge on the side, to make one, man or angel, think higher of himself than he ought to think.
The first offering I would like to give you concerns the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the bearer of knowledge that is both good and evil from the same tree? In other words, can I come to the tree and eat knowledge that is good this time, and then eat again, immediately or later, knowledge that is bad this next time, with both the bad and the good coming from the same tree? Let’s read Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” So we know that all the good knowledge things, and that all the bad knowledge things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil according to his purpose.” Now that is in line with what God was doing in the garden: Adam and Eve, just obey what I have called you to do according to my purpose, which is my business, and you will have nothing to answer to as long as you love me: now that is all things working together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. My next offering to you is that if all the good knowledge things, and all the bad knowledge things all work together for good, then it is really not about the tree of knowledge anyway, but only about the tree of life. As long as Adam and Eve, or you and I, eat from the serving of life given to them/us, then there is no other good knowledge or bad knowledge to eat: there maybe good and bad knowledge to hear, but who knows or cares where that comes from as long as you have your direction from God. My next offering is this, so it doesn’t matter the knowledge of the tree because it is already part of the process included by God already for all things to be good anyway. James 3:11, “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” So is it the tree of knowledge made one way of the other by your obedience or obedience not? If you are obedient to God’s Will and Word, is there even contrary knowledge to concern yourself with? Then, as for me and my house, we are going to be served up the Will, with life.
One of my favorite movies is Rambo, and I always take note of this one saying by Rambo’s ex-commander: “what you call hell, Rambo calls home.” They are talking about the exact same experience, being experienced totally different by different shades of faith, skill, experience, and know how; but all by man. There is the experience of a good outcome, and there is the experience of a bad outcome, but all experiences are coming from the same place. When I really looked at it, I realized that the damage in the garden of Eden had already been done by the time the tree of the knowledge of good and evil had been eaten from. Remember this, “Serving Life In Obedience, With A Percentage Of Knowledge On The Side, is the real battle not to lose. We already have the victory, as long as we just eat of the Will, and of the Life. The serpent did more talking about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, along with the misinformation from Eve, and that is what led to their disobedience. The serpent along with Eve’s bad information became the evil knowledge that made them eat. What Percentage of evil knowledge, and false knowledge can you handle, and still be served life in obedience? That is your shade of good and evil to determine where the life is. And one last thing, make sure you know what God did say to you, because the enemy will let you use your own anxious mistake to help hang you. Genesis 3:3-4, “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” The serpent now has Eve in check because she misstated what God said: God didn’t say that you will die if you touch the fruit, he said that you will die if you eat the fruit. Genesis 2:17, “ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” So once Eve touches the fruit and, she waits to see if she will die, she can now fall prey to her own words as she gains belief from being alive after touching the fruit. Now she has faith from the wrong words, and they will eat, and they will surely die. Serving Life In Obedience, With A Percentage Of Knowledge On The Side.
