We all have fallen under the category to where we have done an act; and we have done the act without having become the act in which we had done. There is a big difference in doing the act than it is in becoming the act in which we have done. It also requires a different process within the mind and heart to become that in which we may do. There is a big difference between God and us when it comes to loving one another: we do the act of love, while God is the act of love. 1 John 4:20-21, if a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” So when it comes to man, the act of love to our brother is a commandment to he who loveth God: if you love me, now give that same love to your brother. One way that we show that we love God is to keep his commandment; therefore, keeping his commandment is the act that we do to show him the love in which we have not yet become. To Do The Act, Or To Be The Act.
It is not a natural thing that man can just start out of the gate being love. I am not sure that we can be that in which we have not grown to become. However, Jesus did put us on the track to be able to become that in which we are only initially able to act out by commandment. The more we follow the map of love, keeping the commandments of God, then the more we are able to know by experience what we have become to be the act in which we once could only do. I believe that the growth percentage of the love in which we have become by the experience received from keeping the commandment to love has us now being the act of love, more so than just doing the act of love. The lord has us on a path to become more closer to being the love act, and not just doing the act of love because of the commandment toward our brother. It was great growing up with the love maps such as the one that we all knew as the Golden Rule, and it was so Golden: Matthew 7:12, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Yeah, we did need the love maps to help guide us along the way of that in which we had not known. When we include the love maps with all of our times and experiences in which we applied them in our lives; then we come to the place where we have become the map, and we no longer need to just do the act of the map. We will keep growing to become greater in love, for there is a never ending standard that will keep us on the growth move: 1 John 4:7-8, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” To Do The Act, Or To Be The Act.
