You already know that the Father be willing to give you the desires of your heart for the Bible tells us so. Psalm 37:4, “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” However, it is not all straight forward as it may sound. The Father will be willing, but do you be willing to do a little work upfront in order to show good faith? Yeah, you maybe all happy and stuff about the prospects of having the desires of your heart come to pass; but will you also show that same delightfulness in the Lord toward the prospects of bringing to pass the desires of his heart: you know, scratch the desire of his heart first, and he will then scratch yours. Do you be willing to go for that is the question to a one choice answer? It’s actually not a bad deal. It’s the same deal that fathers/mothers have been working in the natural with their sons/daughters since before the Andy Griffith show. The father and/or the mother would tell the child, the desires of the parent’s heart: to go pull the weeds up out the flower bed, to go finish up the dishes was always the one given to me, or to go get that homework done so you will know how to do good on your next test. Then the son and/ or the daughter would delightfully go complete the activities told to them by the parents; and the parents are now willing to give the son/daughter the desires of each’s heart: take the car out for an outing with the girls, go to the cornhole championship at the state fair, and get that new wireless controller for the Xbox. The same formula to get the desires of ones heart works in the natural or in the spiritual: the child will scratch the desire of the parent heart first, and then the parent will scratch the child’s. Father Be Willing, Do You Be Willing?
Since we know that the Father be willing to give us the desires of our heart, let’s check to make sure that the children, you and I, be willing to be there through the scratch of it all to receive the desire of our heart. Many of the children in the spiritual, similar to how it is for the children in the natural, may not realize what it may take for the parent to give them that desire of their heart. The desire of the children’s heart, spiritual or natural, may be a difficult ask in which the Father/parent may have nothing in which they can do to avoid the struggle to get it. It is very helpful in the faith operation to get it if the children just know that the Father/parent will be doing all they can to give it to them without a doubt. Some may ask if there is any desire of the heart that is too hard for God to give to us? We already know from scripture that there is not anything too hard for God, but that is not the question. The question was can the children understand that what they ask may be difficult for them to see it all the way through. This is not a difficulty for God, but it is a difficulty for the children. Will the children be willing to be there to the end to receive what they desire? So, will you; be willing to be there to the end if you do ask a difficult thing? This is all Bible. The great Prophet to be at that time, Elisha, was told these exact concerns: 2 Kings 2:9-10, “And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.” The Father is willing to scratch your back if you can take it, but you have to be able to go through the fields that have your harvest. This is not Amazon where the workers on your behalf: man, angels, resources, chance, favor, and whatever else are all just sitting there on shelves waiting to be cherry picked just to fulfill the desire of your heart’s order. I had a desire to buy a particular house years back, and it took a lot longer than what we call normal closing time. I did eventually close on the house, but I remember this Prophet friend of mine telling me why it took so long. He told me that it took so long because I had asked God to do so much. I remember some of the things that I desired in my heart to have done at that time before closing on the house: all debt paid off, no down payment, a certain mortgage payment, and a salary raise to name most of my desires. There are a few other things that I desired at that time in which I can’t remember, but I had asked a difficult thing according to the Prophet. And these are all things that you just don’t walk down the line to cherry pick to fill the order. I was younger in the Lord at that time, and I didn’t know that dogs didn’t climb trees, so I went for it. I know now that most dogs do not climb trees, but I still will go for the desires of my heart; and I will do all I can to be there at the end. You should go for it also, just make sure that you have scratched the Father’s desires of his heart first. Father Be Willing, Do You Be Willing?
