I know, I know, and I know: I am about to reference again, one of my most used examples throughout all of my posts. The reason that I am about to reference it again, is because I just can not get over the fact that the children of Israel, elected by show of faith, to turn a less than two week trip to the promise land into a forty year learning curve. That is hard for someone like me to wrap my faith around. Okay, I can understand that they did not really have the time to know God: kind of like Adam and Eve, they were not really given time to know God in the Garden. They were not in the garden an entire natural season cycle. Look at us. We have known Jesus for years, and the learning curve just keeps on curving. So God is just there after creating the man with his creation go do list, and God as Moses to just show up to the children of Israel with his children go do list: go have dominion over the earth; and go to a land in which I will show thee. Shoot, you and I have shown God on many occasions that he can’t just show up and expect us to show out: following strange unheard of commands at first hearing requires that we first know each other. And many of us have remained true to form, as we are still getting to know God really well before we are willing to take on some of those unheard of commands that he loves to give out. We do have to be careful of how fast we get that learning curve to bend toward the right way: we all saw what happened to Job once God started to brag on his progress. Lol. I should have mentioned this wavier way before you lol: the Father may not consider your lol as amusing as this writer intended it to be. Whew, okay, I am spiritually free of any liabilities that may be caused by your lol. Strong Faith Opens Up The Father’s Playbook.
Then as I continued to write this post, it hit me. I am not sure if the Father, aka, I AM THAT I AM, properly introduced himself to Adam and Eve; or to the children of Israel? In the case of Adam and Eve, God had said let us make man, but man didn’t have the knowledge that there was an us that had made man. God did not let man eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in order to know that the unified God was indeed an us. If the man could have known the faith part of God the us, he could have told the serpent in power that he better get out of his way. In the case of the Children of Israel, Moses was shown and made known of God by the burning bush to ignite his personal faith; however; the rest of the body of the children of Israel was put on the learning curve. One thing that I found out in my studies is that Joshua and Caleb were companions of Moses; and this would tend to give them a boost to building their personal faith since faith does cometh by hearing. So when they were chilling around the camp fire listening to Moses, we know the subject matter; and a little leaveneth will leaven the rest of the companions. God is no respecter of person, and I believe that the short trip to the promised land, as well as the long trip to the promised land was both available according to their faith. The children of Israel as a body just did not have the faith to endure the short trip. Caleb whose spirit was one of faith, and Joshua whose name meant deliverer; well, they both proved to be what they were named to be. It is no surprise that the two of them were ready to take the land regardless of the giants. Strong Faith Opens Up The Father’s Playbook.
Then it really begin to hit me as I thought about many of the words and experiences of Jesus. First of all, Jesus was not led to be tested of the devil, nor did he begin his miracle ministry until after he was baptized by John the Baptist, and the Holy Ghost descended upon him. Matthew 3:16, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. Matthew 4:1, “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.” So Jesus was introduced to the rest of the us in God before he was tested. The Children of Israel, as well as the man in the garden of Eden might have done better if they had been introduced to the rest of the us God. You and I probably would have been in the same boat with them if all things remained a no respecter of persons scenario. And we know that the Word alone doesn’t open up the stronger faith in the Father’s playbook. Look at what Jesus said to the Apostles concerning having the faith to cast out a dumb spirit ; or even to have the faith in the case of the children of Israel to get to the promised land in less than two weeks: Mark 9:19, “He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.” Jesus called them a faithless generation because they needed more than just the Word which was standing right there with them, in order to cast out the dumb spirit. No, they needed the rest of the unified us God to be introduced to them. Jesus became a rallying call to the Apostles in order to get them to be at peace with him leaving them because they needed the faith, the power faith to come here in order for them to move as God moves: John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” The coming of the Holy Ghost was the end of us being as a whole, a faithless generation. And check out what Jesus says to the Apostles again after they have received all of the Word that they need from the Word himself, in person: Luke 24:49, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” The man in the garden could have used that power, but the man didn’t know that he already had it in use. The children of Israel could have used the comforter to cut years off of that trip, but God wanted them to know him by trusting him to deliver them however long that may take. God wanted the children of Israel to have the faith in him to have the power to deliver them; where as Jesus wanted the Apostles and the rest of his Body to also have faith in him while having the power from on high within themselves to cast out the dumb spirit. It is always about order with God, as you will learn of him through his Word before you can operate as his Word. The Apostle did learn and know God as the Word was made Jesus, and then they were ready to know the Word brought to life by being endued with the power from on high. It is time for more of the Body of Christ to show the power of strong faith, and when you go out, don’t go out with the Word alone; but go out endued with power to bring that Word to pass sooner, rather than much later. We, the Christian generation, are no longer a faithless generation: we are endued with the power from on high. Strong Faith Opens Up The Father’s Playbook.
