I believe that we go about this thing all wrong with the Father when it comes to our inheritance as co-heirs with Jesus. If we are co-heirs with Jesus, and I for one know that we are; metaphorically speaking, why don’t we as a whole look like a duck, walk like a duck, and quack like a duck, if we maybe a duck? If we are co-heirs with Jesus, shouldn’t we be able as a whole to display more of that same power as he did in which we are supposing to share in as co-heirs? I am just saying. I’ve been blessed most of my life to be on the side that most of the time did appear to have duck like properties. The few times that I was in trouble or in need, I could just quack my way out like the duck: then I would seem again to be one that is a co-heir with Jesus for the most part in the world eyes. I always say to my wife that people make this life harder than God intended it to be, despite all the challenges in which we face day in and day out. The poor will always be among us even when Jesus is being represented at his peak through out ministry. It was not the world system in which I had my problems. Every corporate job that I had except for one, you know it is always that one, I had great success. I left every job that I had on top, except for that one; and I did end up leaving that one before it left me. I left that particular job like you do in the Olympics where you can drop your lowest score: I dropped my lowest job and won the gold medal in the corporate Olympics. My problem was wanting to know how to give all of God’s children a chance to do good, and not just have a few who did good. So like King Solomon, I guess I went looking for the answer. And even at my last corporate job, I was top duck in my regional lake; but that itch to find out how the many in Christ could be a top duck also, put me on the path again to find out how it could be so. Father’s Gift That Keeps On Giving.
Now in my searching, I did not come to the same conclusion as did King Solomon, that to a degree, all is vanity and folly: Ecclesiastes 1:12-14, “I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” And although King Solomon said all is vanity, I stated it above as to a degree all is vanity. You have to read more than just a passage to understand the fairness of King Solomon’s conclusion; although he really does push vanity, folly, and vexation of spirit to the forefront of his findings. God has a reason for the writings of King Solomon, and it is not up to us to change any of that word. However, I can tell you what I have found out over all of my years of looking to make sense of it all; and that is it all is not here to be made of sense. It is God who is here to make the sense. The problem that we have to deal with for all of us to be duck like is the same problem that we have had from the beginning. God is not concern if we all are able or not able to make sense of it all. It all start going down hill for man as soon as he tried to make sense of what God was doing. We were commanded to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because God had no intentions of trying to make God sense into man sense. And it is still the same way today, for God remains the same today as he did way back then. The main reason why King Solomon was allowed to write as he did was to show that no degree of man’s wisdom will be abled to understand God’s wisdom: it’s just not happening. Much of the Body of Christ is still trying to eat from the knowledge of the tree of good and evil as they try to dress it up as faith. It did not work back in the garden, and it will not work forward into the present and future. Yeah, Adam and Eve tried to dress up in the leaves to hide their sin or to hide their lack of faith. We do it today, but we use the word of God instead to make us believe that we are still in faith. For example, here is one of our favorite dress-ups: Proverbs 4:7, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” I don’t have to imagine with this one; for I have heard and experienced this dress up first hand, many times. Members of the Body will say this as they dress-up in this word to hide their lack of faith: well the word says to get wisdom, and with it to get understanding. This word is not telling us to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; or it is not telling us to know before we go forward. If we know before we go forward, we are no longer going forward in faith; for we are then going forward in knowing which makes it not be a faith operation. God is telling us that as we go, we will learn how to be a duck, and that we will then be able to understand how he does things. This will give us the peace, and more confidence in God for the next round of whatever comes our way as we go. Father’s Gift That Keeps On Giving.
When I look at King Solomon, one of the reasons in which I can see why God wanted to include his writings, is to use him as a witness to the plan of God. Let’s read again verse 13 from that which I stated above in the top paragraph from King Solomon: Ecclesiastes 1:13, “And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.” So, in all of my getting as I still went forth, I can now understand why it all seemed like vanity, and folly to King Solomon. In this verse 13, King Solomon did his seeking and searching out by wisdom; and it is not just by any wisdom, but by the gift of wisdom in which he had received from God. So it is of no great surprise to me now that seeking and searching natural things out by the gift of wisdom from God, could seem to be any thing other than vanity and folly. And during that dream where God gifted King Solomon, God also made it to be where he would be rich: 1 Kings 3:12-14, “Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. 13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. 14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.” And don’t forget that this gifting of wisdom and an understanding heart comes along with an anointing. In those days there were three anointed positions: the King, the Prophet, and the Priest. So yeah, I guess it all did seem like vanity, folly, vexation of spirit if I am operating in the Father’s Gifts and office anointing. This is why I believe that we need to adjust our game plan, and start to take advantage of our gifts. When you use your gift from God, you don’t have to explained to it anything from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It will just do what it does: I can pour Hydrochloric acid on metal, and it will do what it does without any knowledge from me or without me saying in the name of acid. The presence of God by his gift is no respecter of person, and if God is present, it will work. We need our stuff to just work without a lot of stipulations so that we can get out duck walk going: 2 Samuel 6:11-12, “And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household. 12 And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.” We near to hear from the members of the Body of Christ concerning their gifts so that we can know them, and use them with gladness. We need to stop this solo thing, and find the gifts that we need for the circumstance, and use them gladly. Father’s Gift That Keeps On Giving.
It has come to be my conclusion that the Father is expecting the members of the Body to depend on each other. In the natural, the pumping of blood by the heart is nothing without the arteries to transport the blood from shore parts to shore parts. We need each other working together with the different gifts so that we can look like a duck, walk like a duck, and quack lack the co-heir ducks that we are born to be. I was lucky, blessed, by chance, or all three to find one of my gifts long ago. My gift allows me to figure out how to make things work out. When I went to work years and years ago at MCI, I used my gift to figure out how to be the top telephone rep in that office; and when that office closed down, I was the only representative offered a position in another office. I was just beginning to learn the ability that I had, and I did not yet equate it to any spiritual gifting. It was not until I was over a friend’s house, and he was trying to come up with a successful plan to finish up a project, that it began to dawn on me that I had something. I helped him with the plan, and it was a big success. In the same manner of King Solomon using the Wisdom of God vs the wisdom of man, I was unknowingly using the gift of governments to be abled to plan out anything. Over the years when I was in Corporate, it was easy to succeed using my gifts because my planning was not on the natural level. Plus, I would just pour the acid on whatever was next, and let it do what it does. I can remember working back at Xerox just being fearless. We were at the end of the month, and the branch office needed one more unit to hit quota. I went into my appointment near the end of the day with the president of that company knowing that my sales manager was going to send the unit on to the location before I had even started my presentation. To make a trying story short, I did get the president’s signature on the paperwork about three minutes prior to the truck pulling into the lot. The president and I could see the truck pull in the lot as we were just finishing up. Now that will make you be a duck. He just said to me, that was fast. All I could say was, yes it was. Over the years I have become so convinced of the Father’s support to his Will, I’ll just say to people, just throw me into the mess. It will work out just fine, as that is what I know about the Father. We all have gifts in which we all need for the Body of Christ to be all that it should be. So let’s find each other’s gift, and then let go be that duck. Father’s Gift That Keeps On Giving.
