We all have probably heard someone make this statement: God gave me a brain to use, so I am going to use it to think things through. Many people get that rationale, and other off based conclusions from what they think that the scripture is telling them to do. For example, Proverbs 4:4-7, “He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.⁵ Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.⁷ Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” It is true that we are to get understanding from the wisdom that we apply to our lives; however, the scripture does not say to get understanding before you apply the wisdom that you get. The hold up for many of the members of the Body of Christ is that once they receive the wisdom, they also want to receive the understanding too before they make a move according to the wisdom received. It does not work like that, and it never will work like that: now it makes sense. You do not wait to start, or you do not stop what you have already started according to the wisdom received from God, simply because you don’t understand it all. If you understood it all from the start, what would be the faith of it all? Even the Lord and Savior himself does not know it all: Mark 13:32, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” Jesus did not stop telling all of his Apostles that he would return for them one day, just because he had not been given the date to know yet. Jesus did not know that date, but he understood that he would know what he needed to know when he needed to know it. If you want “Us Like Jesus? In all your getting just get the understanding that the Father always hears you; and that you will always know what you need to know when you need to know it. The wisdom of God is always received as knowledge first to man because the two are unequally yoked: spiritual vs natural. This is why we have to first receive the wisdom to whatever the Father Will is because we just can’t understand what he is meaning when we first get his wisdom from him. 1 Corinthians 2:11-13, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” Here is where all of your getting of wisdom will be gotten: your natural knowledge translated into the Fathers spiritual wisdom. The Holy Ghost will take each of our levels of maturity and development in the things of God, and He will then lead us according to the Wisdom = the Word = the Will into an individualized path. This path will apply to the knowledge we received, the things that will translate that which came as knowledge to us into the wisdom from the Father as it was intended to be. You see, when Father first gives us his wisdom, he may have spiritually said to “eat wheat bread and honey only for six months” as you develop into the office of the Prophet. Now we in the natural would not have heard that wisdom. We in the natural would have heard something totally different: we may have heard him say to “eat wheat bread and honey every night before you lay down” as you develop in the office of the Prophet. Now it will be the job of the Holy Ghost to direct our path in a way in which we’ll eventually get the knowledge translated into the proper wisdom: this would be the getting of wisdom part as we follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. And it is really not the getting of understanding that keep many members from moving forth in what they received; however, it is not understanding that no matter how much knowledge they get, they will only be getting less understanding until it’s translated to them. The mature, and upper level sons and daughters will lose less time when it comes to the translation stage by the Holy Ghost simply because they have the understanding that they can only get understanding by going through the translation stage first. So they jump right into it, as oppose to wasting times and seasons trying to hope the system for more knowledge. When we are in the translation stage with the Holy Ghost coming from our knowledge to the Father’s wisdom, in all of our getting of the Father’s wisdom, we will also get the understanding that we need to know.
