There is much opposition facing you before you will be called a Friend of Father. To name a few, first there will be the devil and his band made up of many different levels of cohorts needing to sign off on that label: they are not a friend of Father, and you can be sure that they will do all which is allowed by God and you, to do to you, that which can stop you from becoming a friend to Father. The Devil found a way with God to do a little something to Job by saying that Job only gave to God because God first gave, and continues to give to Job, in a manner of speaking (Job 1: 8-12). So Satan was permitted to take away all of Job’s blessings save his life. Yes, there can be a lot of opposition in our way, as we are on our way to be a Friend of Father. We might want to ask our Friend to be careful when bragging on us, for that is how Satan got started on Job. Next there is also much coming to happen to you “BY CHANCE,” with no intent of derailing your campaign to run for the office of “Friend of Father;” however, BY CHANCE, by definition is coming regardless of its lack of intention: Ecclesiastes 9:11, “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Then just when we think that we may be on a roll, and everything seems to be going pretty good on the campaign trail to be called a “Friend of Father”, we find a way to trip over our own feet. The enemy knows that when all else fails, he can bait us with a few things of this world, and we will derail ourselves for him. 1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” These things alone can bring a massive impact on the outcome of your becoming a friend of Father: if you can know that the run game is coming at you, and even with God on your side, you still get run over, then it is not your day yet to be called a “friend of Father”. This is the same test in which Satan came to test Jesus on when all else had failed for him; and Jesus still holds the record in the quickest turn down time of Satan on record. This record has stood for almost 21 centuries, so we don’t see it going down, ever: Jesus is not a so called generational player, but Jesus is a one and only once eternal Being. A Relationship With Father Is Not A Friendship By Default.
This leads me right on cue, not to necessarily the final opposition in which we may face on our way to being a friend of Father, but to the only opposition that matters the most as we are on our war to being a friend of Father. And that opposition is Jesus, the Son himself; and that’s just in the nature of a S(s)on, to protect that which belongs to his F(f)ather. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” If any man or woman has a campaign to come to the Father in any capacity: member of the kingdom, son and daughter claiming heir rights, or as a Friend for the Will of Father, you will be coming by Jesus first. When you first come to Jesus for your salvation, a new relationship has just started. And what that relationship will grow to become will depend on what role it is in which you want to hang out as with Jesus, and the Godhead crew. We can be friends with God the Father and not be treated like servants according to scripture: John 15:15, “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” This passage indicates that those who know God the Father will be friends of God and know what Father is doing. He will tell his friends. He does not necessarily tell His servants. He just tells his servants what to do and when to do them. A friend will have some input into His decisions and actions. In John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” The friendship will, and has brought forth much fruit. This friendship gives one the ability to ask things of Father that heretofore have not been attainable. We will know Him so well that we will not ask amiss because we know him in a friendship relationship. And once we know Him in a friendship relationship, the scripture indicates that our fruit shall remain. The greater the friendship and the closer to Father we are the more in line with Father we are. In tomorrow’s post, we will expound on Jesus’ effect on the different capacities mentioned above: member of the kingdom, son and daughter claiming heir rights, and as a friend for the Will of Father. We will also look into how much of an effect each of them has on the Father, for he wants the best for each of them. Relationship With Father Is Not A Friendship By Default.
