I guess it depends on which child you want to be like with the Father. Plus, the Father was trying to set us up in the Garden from the beginning to be childlike with him, but the lack of obedience caused man to tamper with the one thing that will just kill your bid to be that kid: and that is to take from the knowledge of the tree of good and evil, because once you know, then you know. And once you know, then it becomes very difficult to live by what he says, because you now have to filter in and filter out, the knowledge of it all that is involved with knowing. Here is how God stated it in the scripture: Genesis 3:22, “And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:” So do you want to be the child to know good and evil, or do you want to be the child to know the life of what God says? When God first put man in the garden, it was his plan for man to eat from any tree in the garden except the one, and live the life of what he says, and not the life of what was unknown. It is the child who will know the life that the Father says in which the Father seeks after. If you have to know the good and evil concerning what he says, then you will not be childlike with the Father, or experience the kingdom of Heaven in its fullness anywhere. Mark 10:15, “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” And also, Luke 18:17, “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.” These two different scriptures, by two different writers, are almost identical in their content. So you can be the child of God who lives by what the Father says, or you can be the child of God who lives by what he knows. This is the reason why God commanded Adam not to eat from that tree, it was not for the sake of God, but it was not to put more on us than we can bear: can you imagine the weight of the world landing on Adam as he heard God say this in Genesis 3:22,”the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil.” You take the fun out of living when you come to know good, and evil. So the Father would say yes, that you can really be childlike with him if you be willing to be the child, and not act all grown up as children sometimes try to be.

Now the Father is not going to change his view on this thing, so those who want to be the grown ups, like Adam and Eve did, and go know that in which the parent has said not to know, then go know at your own risk. The Father being the Will, and the Son being the Word, they are not going to change up on this: they still want childlike sons and daughters so that they can accomplish all that they desire in our lives. James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. And also, Hebrews,13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” You see, they are not changing the qualifications, you must come to God with a childlike heart, or you will be missing out if you come with your cup full of the knowledge of good and evil concerning what he has going on. This is what was expected back in the garden, and it is the same that is put in the new testament to still be expected today. It is not an easy task to undo years of bad habits of questioning everything so it can be done our way. There are many that come to the Father talking about being childlike, but are not experienced in that art form. I was thinking about it in this manner: what would it take to be with the Father, in the manner that my natural son is with me. You know, I charged at my son swinging an object pretending that I was coming to get him, and he doesn’t even move from my path. So I asked him why didn’t you cover up, or run away when I came at you? He goes, dad I know that you are not going to hurt me. And I just looked at him, and said, you right son. And just like Mary did when Jesus asked her did she not know that he would be about his Father’s business, and Mary just kept his sayings to ponder in her heart. I kept my son’s sayings in my mind, and without a twist to chew on, I pondered in my heart what areas am I like that with the Father. In what areas am I childlike, or ready to be childlike, with the Father? If the Father says jump, will I just jump, or will I want to be all educated and knowledgeable with him to find out the reasons why he said jump to me? Many members of the Body of Christ don’t realize that it’s not what the reason is behind the Father’s direction to jump, but what is the reason behind why you responded, or did not respond in the manner that you did when the Father said jump. If your response was that of faith, to jump, because you believed the Father’s word to just jump, as the faith came with the word you heard to move you. Then God is pleased to take that faith movement by you, and use the faith to move your mountain in the manner in which is needed: childlike faith. However, if your response was to first know his reasons why he said to jump, and to question or enquire, to see if his word to jump was something that you could work with to advance your own current program. Then when this happens, God can’t take the faith from the word you heard to use it toward your mountain, or thing hoped for, because you let the faith from the word jump, just die. So Can you Really Be Childlike With The Father? Yes you can, if you be willing to be the child, and just jump when the parent says to jump.
