Yeah, according to Dictionary .com, “the meaning of bungee jumping is to jump off a high structure to which one is attached by bungee cords, so that the body springs back just short of hitting the ground or water.” And I agree that the Father does require in spiritual bungee leaping a few similar looking actions to those found metaphorically in natural bungee jumping: like leaping vs jumping, both requiring the climbing of high structures, and they both also require that one leap or jump toward the final destination. Although the two may appear to be very similar in many ways, they are quite different in everyway. The first biggest difference that really defines them as quite the counterpart is the fact that one is spiritual and one is natural. If we offered no more of a defense than that, then more than enough would have been offered. This would be as if we were speaking in political terms: all I would have to say is Democrat and Republican. We all know that both parties have constituents that love them, and that both parties love back its constituents. And just because each party may do similar activities to serve their districts, because of the platform of each party, each will not be doing those activities in the same fashion: one will cut, and one will raise, enough said.

Another difference between SBL and NBJ that is not similar is the high structure that both must climb in order to leap or jump off.  Each leaper and jumper will both take the first step toward the climb up the structure to the top, but from that point on up it is all different.  The NBJ climber will continue in a line that may curve here and there along the way up, but for the most part the climber will go straight on up the structure made ready to accommodate the climb up.  The SBL climber will not be in a line as all SBL climbers will scatter into the way of each word to ascend up a structure that is laid out accordingly as each climber ascends up the structure.  Once the climb up the structure begins, the SBL will climb up in the direction that the word unfolds, according to the will of the Father. Here is another thing in common to both, but only known to the NBJ climber. The NBJ climber may find peace in ascending to the top to be much easier than the SBL climber ascension because the NBJ may receive a notice before the climb of the estimated time of arrival to the top.  In comparison, the SBL maybe required to produce more fruit of the Spirit than desired because no estimated time is ever given to the SBL climber concerning its arrival to the top.  The only info given to the SBL climber is that he will arrive on time.  Here again, similar things, but not similar at all. I could do three post just on the role that the fruit of the Spirit plays in the SBL success to the top, but for the sake of time let’s move on with it.

Another difference between the SBL climber, and the NBJ climber is the fact that the structure up has everything to do with the leap of the SBL, while it really only serves as a means for the NBJ climber to get to the top of it to do the jump.  Once the NBJ climber reaches the top, its best friend is not the structure climbed up, but it is the connection between the bungee chord, and whatever is used to connect it to the structure.  You see, no NBJ is really concerned about the structure itself not holding up, but every NBJ is very concerned about how will the chord play out in all of this? Will it unfold in the right way not to wrap my neck, or will it not slide on the way down and be too long?  In our natural fight as Christians, it is the connections we make that always end up wrapping us up the wrong way.  In those connections we make, we have no idea what’s all in there waiting to come forth from them into our lives.  Many, and really most people in a fix, would have never experienced the fix if they could have not experienced the connection. This is why the SBL structure up is so important because it will not allow a SBL to leap without all being in order as only then will the truth of the word ascended the structure up to leap off.  And I could go on and on with this, but let’s come to a bungee stop with this one thing to end it with: NBJ jumpers jump to have a rush in their lives, while SBL leapers leap to end the rush in their lives.  The ascension up the structure for the SBL climber was more than enough rush for this climb.  Christians, don’t climb up into connections just to try something different to get a rush. Stick with the processing of the word of truth, and let it ascend you to a leap of faith that only has peaceful connections waiting on you.
