Those of you who are advisors, and counselors know too well the importance of staying on track once you enter into a certain mindset with the patient, member, or client. The last thing that you need, or want in your meeting at that time is someone else other than the one being counseled with loose lips trying to help you get where you were trying to go. It doesn’t happen so much in the professional, or private world, but in the Church world, leaders will usually have an additional person to sit in the session just to keep the integrity of the meeting from being questioned. This sit in person should be trained not necessarily in advising or counseling, but trained in how to sit in the meeting with a positive posture, and to respond only when asked by the lead counselor. A trained counselor will know how, and with what statement, to involve the additional person into the talk if need be as an asset, as oppose to the additional person just entering into the talk to only become a liability to it. When I was holding those type of sessions years back, I would not bring an additional person into the meeting unless it was someone who heard my voice. A person can be trained, and taught in the ways of proper wingman session etiquette, but they must hear your voice to not be moved by emotion, and fly off after the emotion. You would need that person to stay out of it so that you could stay on track.

The Father goes through this with us, his wingmen, on most of his session operations with us. The session operation can be flying just fine between Father Pilot and us wingmen, and then it happens; we find the need, to help out indeed. The one thing that we promised him that we would do, we don’t do fully; and we even made a song out of it. The all knowing, and all powerful God has burned the midnight oil on this one over the centuries as to why we can’t just leave it there: He is still asking Adam and Eve today, and as you know, a day is as a thousand years with him so he’s still in that hangover; why couldn’t you just leave that Apple there. He is asking all us to do fully what we sing to him all the time: Leave it there, take your burden to the lord oh and leave it there. That oh is there because the burden to the lord is no longer there. We have come back so many times trying to do an unwanted audition for the helpful Honda team, and taken the “oh” back from the Father. Go to Honda and audition for its helpful team, but once you take it to the Lord, you must leave it there if you want to be helpful. Plus, here’s your real “oh” problem: once you take it to the Lord and leave it with him, the reason that the “oh” feels much worst after you take it back is because you took back something that was no longer alive to you. You took back a dead thing to you, and forced it back amongst your living things. Do you think that the Lord took it from you, and just set it on his mantel? No, he began to process that dead thing away from your reach for good, but you didn’t give him time to fill the “oh” with the new thing that he has for you. He needed you to put peace, joy, kindness, or whatever good thing that you have to produce in the “oh’s” place until he got you your new thing hoped for. And as I said earlier, the session was going good until that added voice made you feel the need to help indeed. In the case of Adam and Eve, the added voice that didn’t stay out of it, and got the Father off his helpful track to them was the serpent. What is the voice that is coming to you, Father’s wingman, trying to make you get the Father off track by having you feel the need to help indeed? Remember that the job of the pilot’s wing man is one of support and blind side protection. When that additional voice: friend, relatives, stranger, child, trained talking parrot, or however it may come unawares, and makes itself known to you that you need to help indeed, whatcha gonna do? The answer is simple, but the challenge is are you up for it? Here is the answer: LEAVE IT THERE. And if you must speak, then speak to the rock. It is documented in the best-selling book of all times, that if you can find a way to control your tongue, and speak only to the rock at this crucial time in the session’s operation, you may stay on track to crossing over into the land in which you were promised!
