Fathertime: How Long Is Too Long To Hold On?

The answer is, it depends. The reason that we hold on is so that we can succeed at what we are doing. Holding on is like saying wait for it: you are ready to go, but you are waiting for the light to turn green so that you may go on lawfully. And I have seen people so distracted while waiting for the light to turn green that they sat right through the change, and then miss that opportunity to move on lawfully. Now, did they hold on too long to their distraction? It depends on how early did they leave when starting, and also who else following them did they force to miss this light. What was the cost to them, and to any who were following them without extra time. So as we walk out our words of promise with God, “How Long Is Too Long To Hold On? Well, you know the answer by now, it depends.

First of all, you want to always hold on to your word of promise. However, you do not want to have to hold on to it for forty years as did the children of Israel, if the green light to go for it in 13 days or so comes your way. Now this would be holding on too long, but you have to keep going until you get it, right? The cost to hold on too long is just so much: in the case of the children of Israel, everyone over the age of twenty minus a couple couples, did not make it. I will not even speak of the supplies consumed, and the pain of the journey for they are too much for too long when not necessary. Let’s bring it on home, and make it personal. If God is not requiring that more time be added to any operation that you have going on, then any time after his required time is too long to hold on. Things happen to others, and situations change that require a whole new approach from you. No, if God is not requiring it, you can not afford to be distracted by it in any way. Sometimes you have to become child like to get it done, and avoid having to hold on too long. And most people equate becoming child like to innocence, and sincerity as is true, but it’s the other side of being child like that we miss that will help us move on, and not hold on too long when the light turns green. When God gives us clear directions to follow, just follow them. He is not asking for your reasons and explanations on how you came to see yourselves as grasshoppers. Here is where the reality of the other side of being child like comes into play: you have no vote to cast children. The vote is already in, and God decided to make you in his image, after his likeness, and when we follow after God, we will not have to concern ourselves with “How Long Is Too Long To Hold On.”

About Adopted son

I went right to college after high school, and earned my B.S. in Business and Commerce with a major in Marketing Research. While I have worked in the Business world most of my life, I was also spending much time growing, maturing, and developing in the Godhead within the Body of Christ. I founded, established and operated in the evenings a Christian based leadership, and Godhead fulfillment consulting group. I also served for years as a leader on the Church board, and ministry staff. My time in ministry with the Full Gospel Business Men, as well as my other engagements, allowed me to see how people of like faith can receive different results in the word depending on the faith activity in which the individual person believes. There are many options of faith substance made available to us in a faith operation, and we need to move into the faith substance in which we believe in accordance with the word of God in which we are standing. My current and long time ongoing mission is to highlight the greatness of my "Heavenly Father," and the mighty power that He has given to His sons and daughters to use here on earth as they move to fulfill the Godhead. We the members of the Body of Christ leave much of our hundred fold on the table simply because we don't fulfill the Godhead unto the Father. Once we take the Word to full faith, it is not over. So let's go for the greater fold, and fulfill the Godhead. And to be a Global Resource Director, I can afford to leave no fold on the table. Adopted son,
