John 20:29, Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Thomas could believe because he had the proof. It makes you realize why the Church shows little power toward certain matters in which there is no way to provide proof first in order to be in faith, and out of doubt. I don’t want to put words into Jesus’ mouth, but it’s as though he was telling Thomas that he would not be as blessed at the next level. Here we have the seen and the unseen at work: Thomas was not with the other Apostles when Jesus first showed up putting him in a position to please both the Father and the Son, one right after the other. This position is not one you choose, but one that you can only find yourself facing. We can please both at the same time by keeping the word, and doing his will; however, we don’t get the chance to please both in the same deed by having faith require that we address both the seen God, and the unseen God working separately at the same scene. Jesus was not on scene when they first told Thomas the news of seeing him, but the unseen Father was there taking notes. Father loves to work when we allow him to. Father would have given Thomas such a blessing and praise fulfilling his soul to do things that he would not have imagined, but he let it slip away.
I know the Body of Christ has its share of members like Thomas, that’s right, Thomas too was a active member in good standing of the Body of Christ just like all of us. You see, it’s different when dealing with the seen vs dealing with the unseen. The seen is always more preferred because you get to make decisions that you believe work best with you as otherwise having decisions that run up on you for you to make work best with them. Well that’s Father for you; He is just going to show up with the spiritual substance that gives you the opportunity to leave your faith mark on him. Father goes, Thomas, Jesus is alive, but like Sarah getting pregnant, yeah right. Then comes Jesus, it is I Thomas, oh you still don’t believe, put your hands in here. Thomas it would have been better for your fold return if you could have believed my Father when he tried to tell you. Since you made poor use of the resources that we paid in full to send to you, there will be no bonus for you. Remember, Father told us seventy times seven, he has a whole kingdom to run, and will not keep placing precious resources in our hands to let slip away. He will keep us in the seen department when we are not able to work with the unseen: seventy times seven in non-applicable to him. It was no way God was bringing Sarah back in on the ram in the bush faith event: one ha ha ha too many would have been bad news for all involved.
Let’s roll with the Father for a while. The fulness of God for the members of the body of Christ is still there in bodily form, but if you can just taste and see of Father the greater, you will start moving sooner in him rather than later. Don’t miss out on the unseen greater blessings as Thomas did. When Father comes with spiritual substance, jump on it, in it, and with it. It would please Jesus much more to give you edification rather than explaining to you how you missed it again. I can see Jesus now talking to Peter with such high hopes: you know once you receive from the Father, all bets are on that you will be unstoppable. Matthew 16:15-18, “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
WOW! Peter had no proof yet of Jesus being the Son of the living God: he only had spiritual substance revealed unto him from the Father in heaven. Unlike with Thomas, who also had the cheers of his flesh and blood counterparts helping to tell him, and he still couldn’t believe, Peter took it right in. Then Jesus the head of the kingdom of heaven, promoted peter instantly to rock status: build on Peter, build on!
