John 11:41-42, And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. If Jesus had any doubt that the Father would not hear him, he would not have said it out loud. Who brings attention to that which they don’t believe in: to stand there confirming the truth of the relationship. Why would Father not hear you? How would you know that he hears you always? If I think about it from the natural, my son doesn’t know that I hear him always because he’s standing there thinking that my will needs to be done prior to my hearing him. No, my son knows that I hear him always because I love him. Love covers a multitude of all things: work is joy when you got that kind of love for someone.
Listen, we are leaving a lot on the table when it comes to Father because we believe his hearing us is tied to his will being done by us. We could not be more wrong. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We have to find a way to bring the so love of God into our relationship with him. Again, when you go before God, do you know that he hears you always? We need to do the will of God as much as it is ours to do, but we shouldn’t let that decide his love for us. Father has already showed us his love by sending his son to take our place. If you can just come to daddy like a child, and receive from daddy like a child. you will make Father happy.
Father wants to hear us always, but we keep plugging up his ears with all that doing his will talk: of course his will be done, but his will I want to do, not his will I must do. What kind of relationship is that between a Father and son, I only do your will because I must do it or else. I wouldn’t hear you always either if the only reason why you do my will is because you must. I tell my son, I say my Father didn’t have to repeat things two times or more for us to do what he said. Then I say, we did it when we first heard it, and not because he was big and bad, but because i just loved my daddy.
The Father wants to hear us always, not because we do his will, but because we just love him. If we would just love him, we would know that he hears us always: we would feel it. We treat Father like we are not sure about him, like we believe he can, but not sure he will. My son knows that I will, and I know that my heavenly Father will: forget that he can stuff if it be his will. It be his will.
