You know that God being God is the thing that makes him so great. And we can always depend on God to be God, where as, he can’t always rely on us to be like him. God had this bright idea about how man could be, until man showed that he couldn’t be it. Here is where God saw the difference between man and God that put God’s bright idea to rest for a long time. Genesis 1:26-27, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” So God was having this conversation with the “Word” about them making man in their image, and after their likeness. This all sounded good and all, but God didn’t find out in time that he had to put man on a different program than they, God and the “Word,” was on.
We know that it was God and the “Word” having this conversation about creating man in our image, and after our likeness because of scripture. John 1:3 reads, “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” So all things were made by the “Word”: and without the “Word” was not any thing made that was made: man would be part of all things made, therefore, the “Word” would have worked the part of man being made. The program that God and the “Word” was on is just the program of who they are not: God and the “Word” are not flesh. So God could just bring forth the “Word” with its own life, and depend on it to keep his commandments. God used this same program on man, but man was of a different make up: man was not Spirit, but flesh. Flesh can not be depended on unless it is put through its on program for the flesh to die first. God did not find this out until Adam and Eve cross paths with the serpent in the garden. Then God tabled the image, and likeness idea until it was time to send Jesus. Then Jesus, the “Word” that was a Spirit, was made flesh, and came to earth to restart the image, and likeness program: man, that Jesus was just the spitting image, and likeness of his Father. Oh happy days were here again for the well pleased with his Son Father after that long sour taste left in his mouth with Adam and Eve in the garden.
So here we are, you and I, ready to try again, “Us Being Made By Them,” in their image, and likeness. Father is so pleased with the results of Jesus, that he is looking forward to having more sons complete the process. So Jesus went through it first: not as God, but as we would, as a man with full access to the fullness of God. We know that Jesus contained the fullness of God in bodily form, but he processed the “Will” of the Father as a man would have too, and not as a God could easily just do. And them is still them: nothing is made that is made without the “Word;” and everything that the ‘Word” speaks to be made will be moved on by the “Spirit;” and anything that the “Word” speaks to be made, and that the “Spirit” moves on that was spoken to be made, will all be the “Will” of the Father. This time around the Father put the flesh on the program that gives it a chance to be made by them, and this time the process gives man access to the fullness of God through the Godhead to step into power to be depended on. Let the serpent come talking his mess now: we have the power of God to step into this time around to put him down.
