So when you receive a word of promise to stand on, what do you do with it? No, you don’t just stand on it, you immediately look to spread it where you need it. When you get butter, jelly, jam, or whatever, you get it to spread it on toast, bagel, waffles, or whatever. Think of the “Word” you receive in a like manner, you must look around to see where the toast, bagel, waffle, or whatever is, and then go spread the “Word” on it. The reason why so many words fall by the wayside unproductive is because they just stand. You need to spread it onto substance in your pantry world for you to empower.

So here we go. I have my “word” of promise that I need to spread. Let’s get Jesus to demonstrate how it’s done: oh, he has demonstrated how to do this several times already. Let’s use his feeding of the 5,000 for our example of how to spread that “word” of promise. So Jesus “word” (butter) was to feed the people. So Jesus needed to identify all of his substance available for use in His world pantry. And keep in mind not to choose the wrong substance to spread the “word” on if it is will give you less than a hundred fold if possible. This is another reason why so many words fall by the wayside, or maybe only accomplish tenfold, thirtyfold, and so forth. And don’t leave your faith in the hands of those with no faith or much less faith. For example, In Matthew’s account of this feeding, his apostles would have sent the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. Now that substance is in Jesus’ world pantry, he could have selected this toast to spread the “word” of promise to feed them, but what fold or percentage would be taken care of. Over in John’s account, the Lord himself, in order to prove himself, because he knew what he would spread the “word” on already, he even asked the apostles how much money to buy bread, and poor Philip jump right in with the answer. Now buying some bread to feed them is indeed substance in Jesus’ world pantry, but again, what fold or percentage of people would be taken care of? Then there is the all to familiar do nothing substance, and let the people fend for themselves. Then there is the one authentic substance choice that Jesus has the ability to make work for all: Jesus is going for the hundred fold substance. Now the apostles could not have chosen to spread the “word” on the substance that Jesus chose because they did not have the faith or a clue of how to spread it.

So Jesus did, what you and I need to do, select the substance from our midst that will give us the best chance of receiving the hundredfold. Some of the substances among your choices might work to some degree, but your desire is to spread the “word” of promise on the one that is the authentic substance for your need to receive the most fold. So of course, Jesus went with the five loaves and two fish to spread his “word” of promise on. I am sure it was all so good.

Ok, next time we will look at what to do if the substance available to you in your reach, just will not cut it.
