We really are more than the adopted sons of the Father with Jesus being His only begotten Son. We are also like the prodigal son who left the home that had everything he could ever need and want. And just like that prodigal son, we have been making our way back to the home of plenty ever since we made the decision to leave it through disobedience. We all know how the story ends for the prodigal son. He makes it back home after experiencing life in a way that was never intended for him to experience. There was his loving father standing there with arms wide open to welcome him back home. A true testimony that things do indeed work together for the good, but decisions made determines if you over pay for the good that you get. We are now on the path back to our home of plenty. It was not intended for us to suffer want in any area of our life to the degree that we have experienced since that fatal day of disobedience by Adam and Eve in the garden of plenty. Of course, they had to dress it and keep it up, but having all of their needs met all the time was always the intent of God. Yes we can definitely say without doubt that all things continue to work together for the good, but we have continued to make decisions requiring us to over pay for the good that we get.
I must admit that the prodigal son had an easier job getting back home because he was walking back home as a man to a man. We on the other hand are walking back home as a man, but to a God. Although Jesus came and paid our debt in full so that we have a place with Him in heaven, we still have to live on this earth until that great day comes. Jesus made it possible to have a RSVP in heaven, but let me ask you this from a popular movie: Are we there yet? God will still supply all our needs while we are here on earth as was His intent in the garden at the beginning, but now we have overpaid for things to work together for the good. We now have to do much, much more than just dress a garden and keep it up. God had to so love us in order to save us, and in return we must now so love Him back in order to walk in abundance on this earth. God has always loved us, but just loving us didn’t cut the mustard. He tried many things out of love to save us, but they all failed: walking with Him daily in the garden didn’t work, Noah’s Ark didn’t work, the Law of Moses didn’t work, the list goes on and on, but nothing worked. Yeah, the prodigal son walked back to a father that was a man, but we are walking back to a Father that is God. You know what? It just dawned on me that God was the one who first planned on implementing the saying that “if you want something done right, then you must do it yourself.” SO HE SENT GOD TO DO WHAT ONLY GOD COULD DO: SAVE US!
Here’s the poetry behind my title of this post, “A Man Walking To God.” The way this ends for man is the way it began for man. One might say that God is a little stubborn, but He is God: it will be His way to plenty or it can be your way to not enough. I was going to say His way or the Hell way, but not supplying your needs on earth to the highest degree possible is not a prerequisite to having your RSVP to heaven revoked. He can only work with you to the degree you will it: many will not so love Father as He had to up His game to so love us to the degree required to receive His best. Some will have more than others, but the adopted sons that are on their A game will learn to walk as a man to God to receive more of God. When you walk to God as a man you up the chances of increasing your return to the thirty, Sixty, and hundred fold. There are plenty of homeless people who already have their RSVP in heaven, and then there are many with plenty that will have their best days here on earth if they don’t meet Jesus in Spirit through confession before they die. So my point, not living in abundance on earth does not keep you from your seat in heaven if you know Jesus. I am just one of those sons that wants it all. What He has for me, I’m going to get it no matter where the walk of so loving Him takes me.
In my next post, and it will be soon. I will lay out a practical way to walk as a man to God. Sometimes I can go a while before posting, but you can only state the real in only a few real ways. I am so glad that Father had a desire to give me more real on Him at this time. The body of Christ is loaded with sincere sons that want a path to Him. I’m not talking about heaven. We know that path way already, and there are many pastors in your community that will lead you to Christ anytime you are ready. I’m talking about bringing to past the abundance of God here on earth, and to do that you must first know how to walk back to God’s supply. If it was as easy as one might say to you, more of His members of the Body of CHRIST would be living it. These people are not volunteering to be in lack, and wanting basic needs met. it’s more than just a prayer. Yeah you must pray, but you must learn also how to so love Father as He has so loved you. Another reason Jesus walked on earth was to leave proof, and a model on how God’s will can be walked out by a man. And although the “Word” was God, the “Word” became flesh and made His dwelling among us, Jesus used the same powers that have been made available for us to step into as we walk to Father. So we can do this earth thing much better than we are currently doing. I will end with this for you to think about until my next post. Here is the gap that we have to make up that Jesus was solid on doing His walk as a man. We have spent all of our development to get better at one thing. We need to graduate from just believing the word; we need to start knowing that the word will be before we see it: more blessed are those who believe without seeing. You just have to develop to the point that you just know. My natural son does not lose any sleep wondering if he will eat in the morning. He doesn’t think about believing it. He just knows it. He wasn’t concerned whether or not he would get what he wanted for Christmas. He got up and without any doubt and disbelief the day before, went to the tree not to see what was there, but to find what he knew would be there. The thing that Jesus had over us when he was operating as a man was His past. Since he was the Word, with or without his powers as God, He knew that every word that came forth was exactly true. He knew the word was true from the start of His walk as a man, whereas we’ve had to process, and develop over time to maturity to create a past that knows we can trust that word. Jesus on day one as a man knew that the word was true, and that He had the support of His Father. Jesus goes to the tree on Christmas morning like most of our kids looking for what He knows is there. We went to the tree on Christmas morning many times still hoping that what we want or need would be there. We didn’t have the mindset of just knowing that we were going to get it. It’s time for us to go to the tree knowing that what we want, and need is there when we go to reach for it.
It’s Fathertime.
Until later,
Adopted Son
