The scripture is very clear when it comes to the connection of Jesus to His Father. There are three things that really separate themselves for me from all of the other things that are just marvelous within themselves about their connection. And I’m not even talking about any of the things that are connected to our salvation: everything about Jesus’ existence in some way or another has to do with our salvation. The reason that God sent the “Word” to become flesh in the person of Jesus in the first place was because He so loved us. So don’t start naming all of those things because I get that already.
The three things that He wanted me to highlight in this post has to do with our understanding of how we should operate after Jesus. You see, Jesus is not here with us as He was when we He could be seen in bodily form back in the day of the original apostles, but I’m not sure if we understand our role after Jesus after all this time. I see to many Christians looking, and waiting for things to happen, instead of making things happen as they look and wait. Yeah, you can do both at the same time, make things happen while you look and wait in order to move forward: now that’s an oxymoron that requires a level of skill to execute. It’s easier once you execute it a couple of times: like baking a chicken and decorating the table while you look and wait for the chicken to get done and the guest to arrive. You not just sitting there looking and waiting for the guest to arrive while hoping a baked chicken is going to drop by all cooked and prepared just before the guest arrives. If you want God to bless you with a better job, while you look and wait for the job that God has for you to say those magical words, “we would like to offer you a job with our company”; you had better been offering out some resumes, completing applications, joining monster.com, and etc., or you may stay in captivity longer than you should. No, go be like your big brother, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: He would just go be about His Father’s business at the age of 12 years old without permission, He would just become a fishing consultant locating boat loads of fish after others had been trying all day, He would open up beverage making industries on a whim of His mom turning water into wine, He would finish medical school in record time repairing cut off ears under the pressure of foreseen death with His hands as his only mending tool, and on and on did our Big brother endeavor to show us what we must become after He returned to be with His Father. I know that was Jesus, but it was also Jesus that said, “and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
This leads me back to the three things concerning Jesus connection to the Father that will allow us to see how we can pull off these greater works. First of all, Jesus was the only begotten son, at times you will get to be like Mike, but you will never be Mike. When ever the Father looks at us, He sees the full payment of His only Son, and therefore all is well. To be like Jesus only requires that you operate your life as a faithful Son would do, and believe in the name of Jesus as the Son of God: this is how you Be like Jesus. When the Father looks upon His Son and sees perfection, all is well. It’s like an eclipse, we are here on earth operating in our gifts to our best, while Jesus radiates nothing but glory on our behalf. Remember in the Garden with Adam, before there was any sin? For example, the will of God would be to name the animals. So, the “Word” would say to Adam the “Will” of God: Adam go name the animals. Now follow me, like a natural Father could say to his natural son, go wash my car. The natural son has seen his father wash the car many times by now, and has it in him what needs to be done to wash the car. Plus, the natural son has helped wash parts of the car with his dad, washed his bike, and other things with water to the point of no concern to his father that the natural son can do this: so he says no more about it. Back to Adam, once God says to Adam to name the animals, we here God say no more to Adam because God knows that Adam has it in him to name the animals. Remember, Adam is still a pure soul, so we know that if part of God is communing with Adam, then all of God is communing with Adam: God is one God, He just breaks it down into Godhead for training purposes. It’s just like in the Old Testament, the word Prophecy covered all aspects of the revelation gifts, but in the New Testament, Paul broke the revelation gifts into the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, and the discerning of spirits; and then Paul put the basic gift of prophecy over in the vocal group with speaking in tongues, and the interpretation of tongues: you get my point. So, If Adam had it in him to name the animals, we know that it would have come from either the “word of wisdom” of God, or from the gift of insight of God. In either case, whichever gift of God that Adam used, we know from the Bible that whatsoever Adam called them, that was the name thereof. Since Jesus is up putting out the Glory on our behalf, you and I will need to name more things to do more works while down on earth with the gifts that we have bestowed upon us: we are the adopted son to now be like Jesus.
The second connection that I want to mention between Jesus and the Father is the spiritual make up of Jesus. Now Jesus is just the perfect prototype spiritual being of the future. The universe had never beheld such a creation before, or since. It pleased the Father that Jesus be given the fullness of the Godhead, now get this, in bodily form. This is why we may be like Mike at some events, but we will never be Mike. Take the pressure off, and just learned to trust in the plan of God, and because of the model that God has for you and me, we will be like Jesus at the events that have our name on them. Jesus was a bad man, you know how His mom, Peter, and others would put Him in positions that He was not necessarily trying to handle right then. For example, the tribute collectors could back Peter in a corner, and require an unexpected payment be made immediately to the Roman treasury department. Jesus would just say, “Peter, run down to the Bank of Fish, and I have payment waiting for you to pull out: no account number necessary, just use your talent.” Now that’s what I called a bad man, ready on the spot to get you out of trouble. Settle down, Jesus could do that because He was all God, but in the flesh. The world hadn’t seen that before, No, Adam was not all God, but Adam had access to all God before he got kicked out of his access.
The last point of connection between Jesus and the Father is Jesus’ ability to transfer the power to work with His Father to us as long as we are doing it in His name. Wow, that’s not being Mike, but that gives me power to be like Mike when doing events that I’m called to work at in the name of Jesus. Here is how Jesus makes it possible for us to be a son as He was when He was here on earth: Now You See Me, But Now You Be Me. Although Jesus was all God, He operated in the flesh as a man using the full power of God. He did His life as a man, using the power of God so that we could follow suit. You and I can’t just get frustrated, and call down a legion of angels to rescue us when things are not going as we believe they should, and neither would Jesus. He had the power to do it, but He went through the process in the manner as we would to do the will of the Father. If we are not being about the Father’s business, we will not be able to operate at that event in power. In order to work with the Father, and operate in power as a true son, just do as Jesus did. First, Jesus fulfilled every word that was written concerning Him. It was thirty years before Jesus moved into the next part of His Ministry that required Him to use a greater level of His power. You and I have to do everything that we can to organize, and set up the word that we believe in before we can access a greater level of power to bring it to pass. Then when the positioning of the “word” begins to demand that the rubber meets road, the intentional use of the power of God will be there to bring it to pass. After Jesus begin to have people moving toward Him to see if He was indeed able, the power of God was there for Him to use. It works the same way for you and I, but Jesus was more skilled than you and I have become. Let’s use an example from an earlier post concerning Lazarus. When Jesus received the news of Lazarus death, He waited a couple of days before going according to the will of the Father. You, I, and most Pastors would have went to see the family immediately, and the Holy Ghost would not have been there yet to do any healings: too early. Therefore, if we had prayed for Lazarus to return from the dead, it would not have happened because we were operating out of the times and season of the will of the Father. Our job is to continue to become better skilled at operating with the Godhead. This will allow us, more times than not, to be as Jesus would be. Now You See Me, But Now You Be Me.
Fathertime!!!
Stay Tuned,
Adopted Son.
