Easter morning came, and the only thing that could be seen to be removed from the scene was the stone to the door where Jesus’ body lay. Usually, it takes more than the removal of a stone to create such a stir, but in this case, the stone was all that it took. And it wasn’t the removal of the stone that was of value, nor was it the missing body of Jesus per se from behind the stone that was causing the stir. The thing that labeled Jesus as the first Christian to have an APB (All-Points bulletin) put out on Him by the known world was the fact that He had told them that He would die, and then rise up from the grave on this third day. The thing of value to the whole world was that the “Word” of Jesus concerning who He was had come to pass, and there were many in attendance that could not afford to have His word be true.
I would like to honor Easter by showing Jesus that all the suffering, and pain that He volunteered to go through for me was not in vain for my part. He and Father backed up everything that Jesus said would happen solely because of their great love for us along with the oneness that they have in each other. Jesus knew without a doubt that Father would raise Him from the grave of death. It would have been nice if Jesus could have stepped out of the grave to a standing adoration of praise and worship. I guess it was a bit over the heads of mostly everyone that He told except for a couple of ladies name Mary.
When Jesus arose from the grave, you and I also arose from our graves of death. We are alive with Jesus, and all we need to do to walk in that power with Him is to be loosed from the things that keep us bound up. The great news about Easter was and is the fact that Jesus’s Word was honored by Father. We know without a doubt that Father will show up when you put all your eggs in His basket. Jesus had no back-up plan because He didn’t need one. He put all of His eggs in His Father’s basket: not one egg of the word in that basket got cracked, the basket was delivered whole. Jesus had to go missing so that we could be made whole.
Let’s follow suit this Easter of the greatest leader that the Church will ever have, and put all of our eggs this Easter in the Father’s basket as did Jesus. When you lay that word to rest in Father’s basket, you may not see many, if any a Mary looking out for your word to come to pass, just as long as you get up looking for it to come to pass. Jesus died for this purpose, come on and lets show the power of His resurrection in our daily lives. Our daily lives are all that we have to represent His power. It is great that the Father who showed up for Jesus many Easters ago, is ready to show up for us now: ever since that first Easter, everyday is Easter. Go ahead and take a couple of minutes to gather together the eggs of death in your life, and lay them to rest in Father’s basket. Father will raise them up: Father-Time is Resurrection time.
Once we start bringing to pass the “Word” that we have left idle in our lives, there will be a Mary or two there to give honor to God. Jesus came in the first place to save us eternally, and to give us life more abundantly while we are still here on this earth. I’m not quite the E.F. Hutton I want to be yet either, but I’m living every day to prove that there is life in the “Word.” Jesus died for us to prove His “Word”, and we are blessed to live for it everyday. The thing that will make us of value to the world will be our ability to bring to pass the “Word” of God that we speak: now that’s value.
Stay Tune,
Adopted Son
